Advaplan and Strasbaugh have process development facilities in Finland and in the USA to ensure a quick turn-around and close integration support. The choice of which facility to use will depend on the nature of your product and the process solution to be devised. In Europe, our facility is part of VTT Micronova, one of the worlds best research and nanofabrication centers, with access to full product manufacturing capability and state-of-the-art metrology. In the USA, we are part of the world famous Strasbaugh equipment design and manufacturing facility where next generation process equipment is under constant development. The resources at this facility are particularly valuable where new tool solutions must be engineered to meet new product challenges.
Established in 2005, Oy Advaplan, Inc. is a service and consulting company specializing in MEMS and Semiconductor production. Located in Finland, Advaplan is respected internationally for its process design, development and integration support capability.
The president and founder of the company, Dr. Martin Kulawski is an expert in MEMS and bonded wafer applications. From 2000 to 2007 he was Project Manager at the Government Technical Institute of Finland. From 1998 to 2000 he was a team leader for CMP tool installation and process integration at customer sites for Peter Wolters Company. Dr. Kulawski is a member of CMP user groups in the United States and Europe and has been a speaker and lecturer at semiconductor conferences in the United States, Europe and Asia. He has authored more than 15 papers published in scientific journals. Dr. Kulawski was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering with a Solid State Electronics minor in 1998 from Christian Albrecht University and a Ph.D. with a CMP thesis in 2006 from the Technical University of Helsinki.
